Filmmakers Win Emmy

Let's celebrate! Directors Scott Takeda and Lori Kay Allred just won an Emmy from the Suncoast Regional Chapter. They took the top prize in the Human Interest-News category for a documentary series titled “Melissa’s Story.”

This was a project produced through Scott Takeda's company Takeda Entertainment; his company's second Emmy in the past five years. The previous was for a long-form commercial.

This is Takeda's sixth regional Emmy; and Lori Kay Allred's fourth. Allred had previously won a National Daytime Emmy in 2013.

National Daytime Emmy for Lori Kay Allred

Time to pop the champagne again. Lori Kay Allred just won a National Daytime Emmy for her work on the Food Network show "Guy Fieri's Family Reunion." It won in the top prize in the Outstanding Special Class Special category.

Allred is a writer on the show which is produced by Citizen Pictures out of Denver, Colorado. This past weekend, Fieri and the producers were at the awards banquet in Los Angeles to pick up the award.

"I am so proud of Lori and congrats to our colleagues at Citizen Pictures," said filmmaker Scott Takeda. "Lori's talent for storytelling is unparalleled, and now it's been recognized at the highest level. It’s well deserved.."

Congrats Lori!

2011 Emmy Nomination

Although it’s somewhat of a cliché to say "it’s an honor to be nominated"…in our case, it’s really true. We are very honored to have received a 2011 Emmy nomination in the highly competitive community affairs segment category of the Heartland Chapter’s Emmy competition. Our moving documentary short was directed by Scott Takeda through his production company Takeda Entertainment. Takeda directed and wrote the documentary, and BI Worldwide was the agency. Our entry is competing with two other documentaries for the top honor. The winner will be announced at the 25th Anniversary Awards Gala in late July.

This is the sixth time in the past seven years Takeda has received an Emmy nomination, and his ninth total nomination to date. So far, he's been fortunate to have won it five of those times.
